Another Opening, Another Show — With YOU?

Director for “Hairspray” Announced

The Board of South Bay Musical Theatre is pleased to announce that Walter Mayes will direct our production of HAIRSPRAY in spring, 2015. Auditions for the show will be held in October.

Mr. Mayes most recently directed “Promises, Promises” for SBMT in 2013; other shows he’s directed for the group include “The Producers” (2009) and “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” (2011). He has also performed in several SBMT shows, including starring as Mack Sennett in “Mack and Mabel” (2011) and as Don Quixote in “Man of La Mancha” (2008). Mr. Mayes has performed with a number of Bay Area theaters, and makes appearances as “Walter the Giant Storyteller.”

Choreographer Esther Selk has quite a few dancing surprises up her sleeve (none revealed here!) for our audiences.
